Erich Gonzales as Maria La Del Barrio
MANILA, Philippines - After being part of the hit series "Magkaribal," what's next for young actress Erich Gonzales?
The actress revealed in an interview that her next big project is a Filipino remake of the popular Mexican telenovela "Maria la del Barrio."
Gonzales confirmed that she feels pressured to do a version of the hit series.
"'Yong pressure hindi talaga 'yan maaalis. 'Yong kaba, lahat ng emotions, halo-halo na. But what's important is that pagdating na ng trabaho ay kailangan mo ng mag-focus at mag-concentrate. Dapat talaga ito 'yong maging priority mo at huwag ka munang mag-isip ng kung anu-ano. Be ready palagi," Gonzales said.
The young actress said that she will attend an acting workshop to prepare for her new role in "Maria la del Barrio".
"Definitely po mayroon 'yang workshop at pag-aaralan po ang character. Siyempre po ang ibang cast kailangan niyan ng bonding para pagdating sa set ay wala ng ilangan," she said.
In the series, Gonzales will play the character of MarĂa, a scavenger who will fall in love with a rich guy, Fernando.
In ABS-CBN's "Maria la del Barrio", actor Enchong Dee will play the role of Fernando.
The Mexican "Maria la del Barrio" was originally aired in 1995 to 1996. It starred popular Mexican actress Thalia and Fernando Colunga.
